We often mention spring cleaning in reference to deep cleaning and decluttering our space. Have you ever thought about applying that same theory to your social life? Spring, synonymous with growth and renewal, brings quite the buzz of excited energy. Time to channel that energy into creating a mental space that will help you flourish! Here are some tips for how you can spring clean your social life!
There’s an App for That
Sure, there are a plethora of useful apps out in the world, but is it really necessary to have them all installed on your phone? Take the same “keep / maybe / donate” sorting rule that you use to clean your closet and apply it to the apps on your phone. Or better yet, Marie Kondo it! “Does this app spark joy?” If the answer is no, thank it for its time and click the little red x to uninstall it from your mobile device. This would also be a great time to organize your phone to your liking!
Get the Picture?
Or a thousand? I am sure that many of us are guilty of having multiple versions of the same picture on their phone (have to work those angles am-i-right?). Use some time this season to go through your photo gallery to delete some of your duplicate photos. Not only will you free up some space on your phone, but the practice will also be a pleasant stroll down memory lane. Don’t forget to keep a few bloopers!
Say Yes…
Only to activities that truly excite you! In addition, learn to say no to activities that do not. Current society seems to value the person that tries to do it all, leading to increasing levels of burnout. Spring is a great time to re-evaluate your priorities and make decisions about your social life that are in alignment with those priorities. You only get one life; spend your time wisely.
Me, Myself, and I Time
Speaking of time, don’t forget to schedule some time for yourself this Spring. Practicing self-care will foster the personal growth and renewal that is characteristic of this season. Clean up your wellness routine by incorporating activities that you love and find value in.
Spark Your Positivity Charge
Lastly, surround yourself with positivity in this new season of life. Take some time to evaluate the energy and messages that you allow into your life. This could include unfollowing that Instagram page that prompts negative emotions. It may even mean reducing the time that you spend with that person who never has anything nice to say. Surrounding yourself with positivity will help promote happy vibes and motivate you to live a positive life as well!
